A specialist in microsurgery and spinal instrumentation, Dr. Armstrong is the Medical Director of the Southern California Spine Institute at Brotman Medical Center. He previously served as the Director of the spine programs at Century City and Midway Hospitals and was the former Chief of Neurosurgery at Century City Hospital. Dr. Armstrong was awarded a research fellowship grant on spinal cord trauma from the National Institute of Health and completed a combined neurological and spine fellowship at the University of South Florida. He received further training at the University of Marseille, Hospital de Conception, in France. Dr. Armstrong has published numerous papers on spinal disorders and procedures, maintains an active lecture schedule and is an affiliate of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurosurgeons and the North American Spine Society
